PRE-04 Find Your Oasis

PRE 04  Find Your Oasis

October 1-4

Find your oasisGreater Palm Springs has evolved way beyond a stereotypical golf sanctuary. Art, architecture, adventure, history and cutting edge environmental programs—all of these and more will be discovered on this exploration of California’s fascinating desert region. Somewhere in it, your perfect oasis awaits, complete with warming sunshine, dramatic mountain backdrops, true blue skies and a lifestyle few destinations can match.

On this tour you will ascend 2.5 miles from the Coachella Valley floor to a pristine mountain wilderness aboard the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, one of the world’s largest rotating tramcars. Take in the 360-degree views of the valley on the journey. The world has fallen in love with Greater Palm Springs for its midcentury modern architecture, some of it seen in the area’s private estates. Louis Vuitton recently chose the destination to host its annual cruise launch at the iconic Bob Hope Estate. You will take a private architectural tour inside some of these opulent enclaves, including the famed Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands. The tour will also include a visit to the Palm Springs Art Museum’s Architecture & Design Museum, opened in 2014.

More than 90 percent of the dates harvested in the United States are grown here. You will taste this natural sweet treat on a tour of Shields Date Garden, where you will enjoy a date shake and catch the short film, “The Romance and Sex Life of the Date.” This is also your chance to get your celebrity on at the one of the area’s exclusive spas. Celebrated in Hollywood films and favored by those seeking a protective hideaway, Two Bunch Palms is also the first carbon-neutral spa resort in North America. Here you’ll soak in the natural mineral waters and be pampered with an indulgent spa treatment.

Accommodations in Greater Palm Springs range from cool and hip to understated and elegant.
